The plan is data only. Your own number stays on your physical SIM, so calls and SMS keep working the way they always did. If you need a number for WhatsApp or Telegram, keep your home SIM in the phone and let the eSIM carry the data.

Pricing depends on how much data you take, not on which of the covered countries you use it in. That is the part travellers usually get wrong: a single-country plan is cheaper per gigabyte, but the moment you cross one border it stops being the cheaper option.
When a regional plan actually beats a local one
Take a regional plan if your trip touches two countries or more, if your plans might change mid-trip, or if you are travelling by train or car and will pass through countries you did not plan for.
Take a single-country plan if you are flying in and out of one place and staying put. In that case, open the page for your destination instead. Same eSIM, same checkout, lower price per gigabyte.
Which networks you connect to
The eSIM connects to local carriers in each country, the same masts your phone would use with any other travel eSIM. In practice you get 4G almost everywhere and 5G in most large cities. Your phone picks the network automatically when you land, and you do not have to touch any settings.
Speed is honest but not magic. On a busy evening in central Barcelona you share the same cell as everyone else. What you avoid is the roaming bill and the trip to a shop with your passport.
One eSIM for 33 European countries
The Europe plan covers all 27 EU countries plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Serbia. When a train crosses a border, the phone switches to a local network on its own, usually within a minute.
Who needs it? If your phone has an EU SIM, you already roam at home prices inside the EU. The plan is for visitors from outside the EU, and for EU residents heading to the UK or Switzerland, where many carriers charge for roaming.
Two places it doesn't cover: Turkey and most of the western Balkans (Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, North Macedonia). For those, the Balkans plan covers Greece, Turkey and the region.
The plan's days start counting from the first connection in a covered country, so you can install the eSIM at home weeks before an interrail trip.
On cruise ships, the onboard network is a separate satellite service that bills on its own. Switch mobile data off at sea and back on in port.
Which plan to pick for Europe

Nothing to register
A local prepaid SIM means finding a shop, standing in a queue and filling in a form, and the rules differ in every country on this list. A travel eSIM skips the errand entirely. Before you pay, check your phone
Your phone has to support eSIM and it must not be carrier locked. Most iPhones from XR onwards, recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models are fine. Two minutes on the compatibility page saves an awkward moment at the airport.
Install the eSIM at home, on wi-fi, before the trip. The plan starts counting when you first connect at your destination, not when you scan the QR.

Does the Europe plan cover the UK and Switzerland?
Yes, both, along with Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Serbia.
Does it cover Turkey?
No. For Turkey and the Balkans, use the Balkans plan or a Turkey plan.
Do I need to do anything at the border?
No. The phone moves to a local network on its own. If data doesn't come back within a few minutes, toggle airplane mode.
How many countries does the Europe eSIM cover?
45 countries, listed above. The same plan works in all of them, and you do not have to tell us where you are going.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. You pick a plan, pay in crypto, and the QR code appears on the page. Nothing is emailed to you because we never ask for an email.

What happens when my data runs out?
You top up the same eSIM by its ICCID on this site, or buy another plan. You do not have to install anything again.
Is a no-KYC eSIM legal in Europe?
