WHY Cypher eSIM?

Frequently asked questions

What is eSIM and how does it work?

eSIM is a digital SIM card that lets you activate a mobile data plan without a physical SIM card. Just scan the QR code and you are online.

Which devices support eSIM?

Most modern smartphones support eSIM, including iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3+, and Samsung S20+.

Can I use one eSIM in multiple countries?

Yes, we offer global and regional plans for travelers visiting multiple countries. You can also choose a plan for a specific country or region.

How long does eSIM activation take?

Less than a minute. Just scan the code and follow the simple setup instructions.

Can I top up my eSIM or extend its validity?

Yes. Open your eSIM page by its ICCID on cypheresim.com — the top-up button under the usage bar adds more data to the same eSIM, paid in crypto like the first order. No new QR code needed.

How much can I save with your eSIM?

You can save up to 70%: international roaming costs $10–15 per day, while Cypher eSIM eSIM starts from $3 for the whole connection period.

Do I need to pass KYC or upload my passport?

No. Cypher eSIM never asks for ID, passport, selfie, phone number or email. You pay in crypto, receive a QR code, and connect — that's the entire flow.

Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?

USDT (TRC-20, BEP-20, Arbitrum, Solana), USDC, DAI, Bitcoin (BTC) including Lightning, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Monero (XMR) and TON. Confirmation takes 30–60 seconds on average — slower for on-chain BTC.

What if my payment confirms but the eSIM doesn't activate?

We re-issue a fresh QR within 24 hours or refund 100% in the same crypto you paid with. No questions, no support back-and-forth — write to Telegram support and we handle it.

Is using a no-KYC eSIM legal?

Yes — in the EU, US, UK, Ukraine and most of Asia, buying a prepaid eSIM without identification is fully legal. A handful of countries (China, Saudi Arabia, UAE) require local SIM registration for residents; tourists are usually exempt.

Do you log my IP, location or device data?

We don't store IP, geolocation, device IDs or any usage data linkable to you. The only record we keep is the order itself (tariff, crypto amount, eSIM ICCID) — no email, no name, no phone.

How is this different from Airalo or Holafly?

Airalo and Holafly require email + credit card (full identity trail). Cypher eSIM accepts crypto only and stores zero personal data. Same underlying carrier networks — different privacy posture.

Can I use the eSIM for calls and SMS, not just data?

These are data-only plans. Your existing phone number stays on your physical SIM; the Cypher eSIM eSIM gives you internet (which is enough for Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp voice/video calls).

What if my wallet or Telegram is blocked in some countries?

You can buy the eSIM before you leave (from any country where they're available). Once installed and activated abroad, it works regardless of local blocks — it's a foreign mobile network you're roaming on.

How fast is the connection?

Local 4G/5G speeds from partner carriers, typically 30-100 Mbps in capitals and 10-30 Mbps in smaller cities. Plans with a fixed amount of GB run at full speed until the data is used. Unlimited plans work in steps: the first 500 MB at full speed, then 5 Mbps, and past the threshold shown on the plan 512 kbps until the period ends. Each unlimited plan also has a total cap for the period.

Can I install the eSIM now and activate it later?

Yes. Install the QR right after purchase — the plan only starts counting from the moment your device connects to a network at your destination. Buy days or weeks in advance.

What is the fair use policy on unlimited plans?

Unlimited plans run in steps. The first 500 MB at full speed, then 5 Mbps, and past a threshold 512 kbps until the period ends. On a 7-day plan the threshold is about 25 GB with a 30 GB cap, on 15 days about 40 GB with a 45 GB cap, on 30 days about 65 GB with a 70 GB cap. The thresholds depend on the plan length, not on the local network. No extra charges and the connection is never cut. If you need full speed throughout, a fixed GB plan has no fair use policy at all.

What if I lose the link to my order?

The link is the only key to your eSIM, so bookmark it right after purchase. If you bought through the Telegram bot, the link stays in your chat. If you lost it, write to support with the transaction hash of your payment and we will find the order.

Can I get a refund?

If a paid eSIM does not activate, you get a new QR within 24 hours or a full refund in the same cryptocurrency. After the eSIM is activated and data has been used, refunds are not possible, so check that your phone supports eSIM before paying.

I sent the payment on the wrong network. What now?

Write to support with the transaction hash. Recovery depends on the network and is not always possible, so check the network name next to the address before sending. USDT on Tron and USDT on BNB Chain are different addresses.

Will I keep my own phone number?

Yes. Our eSIM is data only and installs as a second profile, so your usual number stays on your physical SIM and keeps receiving calls and SMS as normal.
