Where this plan earns its price

Japan and Singapore have excellent networks and expensive tourist SIMs. Thailand and Indonesia are cheap on the ground but cost you an hour of queuing and a copy of your passport. The regional plan wins when you are moving, and on the first day anywhere, when you need a map and a ride before you find a shop.

If your whole trip is one country, the single-country plan is cheaper per gigabyte. Pick the destination from the country list.

Networks and real-world speed

You connect to local carriers, the same ones your phone would find with any travel eSIM. Cities are almost always 4G or 5G. Remote islands and mountain roads are what they are, and no eSIM changes physics.

Two practical notes. In China the internet is filtered, and a travel eSIM that routes through another country is often the simplest way to keep your usual apps working, though we do not promise it as a product feature. In Japan and South Korea the networks are strong but the tourist SIM market is pricey, which is where a regional plan pays for itself.

Registration rules across the region

Thailand, Indonesia, India, Vietnam and several neighbours have tightened SIM registration over the last few years. The rules are aimed at local lines sold by local carriers, and they are enforced in shops, not at immigration.

Because a travel eSIM is a roaming profile, there is no local registration to do. You do not hand over a passport, and we do not hold one. We could not produce your documents if someone asked, because we never had them.

Will it work in China?

Check the list above. Where the plan covers China, your data routes through a foreign network, which usually means your normal apps behave the way they do at home.

Do I need to register the SIM anywhere?

No. Local registration laws apply to local lines. A travel eSIM roams on partner networks, so there is nothing to register and nothing to show.

Can I use it for calls?

No, data only. Keep your physical SIM in the phone for calls and SMS.

How fast is it?

Local 4G and 5G where the carrier has it. You share the network with everyone else nearby, so a packed night market is slower than an empty hotel lobby.

What if my trip changes?
